Hardy motor yachts, having been in production for over forty years ago and with over 4,000 boats delivered worldwide, are renowned in the UK for their robust quality and outstanding sea-keeping qualities.

The new Hardy 65 takes this to a new level, combining the superyacht finish of her custom interior with purposeful yet modern styling. The first of this new line, MARESIA, will be exhibited at the Southampton Boat Show in September.

Hardy 65 – Nearly ready for launching!

Test

The result of very many, highly skilled man-hours, and lots of input from her owners, the photos below show her just about ready to leave the Hardy yard to be trucked to Great Yarmouth for launching. She will hit the water for the first time next week.

Windboats Marine Limited – Press Release

The new Hardy 65 – MARESIA – en route to her launching

After a construction period of 18 months, MARESIA, the largest yacht ever built on Windboats Marine North Walsham site, is being transported to Alicat Shipyard at Great Yarmouth on Tuesday 7th March, where she will be launched the following week. At 65’ long and towering 20’ above the tarmac she is one of the tallest vessels that Norwich based Abbey Transport have ever moved. Apologies for any travel disruption that may occur, caused by the need to raise power cables along the route, but we are immensely proud of this stunning example of Norfolk yacht-building excellence. There is the possibility that the A47 Acle Straight will be closed or a rolling road block set in place.

The hull and superstructure are designed by renowned Norfolk designer Andrew Wolstenholme, whilst the yacht’s fully custom interior was styled by Synolo Design of Ipswich, and is finished in light grey Alpi Wood imported specially from Italy, contrasted by dark wenge timber. Her stunning owner’s stateroom is flooded with light through four hull windows and even features a carefully designed walk-in wardrobe. MARESIA’s main deck accommodation includes a split-level saloon, large, comprehensively equipped galley, and ship-style wheelhouse.

The 65 boasts all the equipment you could wish for in a modern motoryacht.  Engineering systems include twin 800hp engines, bow and stern thrusters, full hydraulic systems including a lowering bathing platform and extending gangplank, and a wireless joystick control system that allows the owner to manoeuvre her into tight spaces easily and safely. Internally, the boat offers full satellite entertainment systems, and complete CCTV monitoring systems.

After intensive sea-trials, MARESIA will head off to her home berth in Jersey, from where her owners will cruise extensively in Northern Europe and the Mediterranean.
The Hardy 65 will debut at the 2017 Jersey Boat Show before being exhibited at the Southampton Boat Show alongside the latest Gunfleet 58.

HARDY 65 LATEST

Hardy 65 being built

The first of the new Hardy 65s will be launched later this year. Based on the original Hardy 62 design, she retains all of the rugged, sea-going features for which Hardys are so justly renowned, but her styling and finish, both internal and external, have been lifted to a totally new level.
