Our Hardy 32DS Henry that was lying in Scotland, was recently sold onto Mr Atkins who has since taken delivery of her and is now lying on the South Coast.
Upon delivery, Mr Atkins sent an email to Sally Coleman “I plan to have a thorough check over the boat tomorrow and may then have a few questions, but for now may I say a big thank you to Windboats Hardy and particularly to you for your efficient support and very prompt attention to all my emails throughout the purchase. It has been a pleasure doing this business with you”.
We wish Mr Atkins all the best on board ‘Henry’ and look forward to receiving photos of Henry in her new berth in due course.
We are delighted to welcome Cathy and Richard Brown as Hardy owners.
Pictured here aboard their Hardy 40DS ATTITUDE, retired journalists Cathy and Richard are a highly experienced yachting couple who also own a 41ft sailing yacht that they cruise and race successfully from their base here on the east coast. For ATTITUDE they have plans for extensive cruising, both offshore and on inland waterways throughout Europe. The 40DS has the same semi-displacement hull design as the highly respected Hardy 42, giving outstanding sea-keeping for safe, comfortable passage making. Her lowering mast has been modified to minimise her air draft and her protected propeller suits her well to canal use.
Cathy, who used to edit the Cruising Association magazine, said: “We are really excited about starting a new chapter in our life afloat, and look forward to reporting on our adventures in this beautifully designed and built and brilliantly equipped boat.”
We wish them many happy times and successful cruises aboard ATTITUDE.
Our Hardy 32 DS ‘Henry’ will be on display at the Scotland Boat Show at Kip Marina, Inverkip, Inverclyde on berth E22 from the 14th to 16th October that opens on Friday and Saturday from 10am until 6pm and Sunday 10am until 5pm.
This is Scotland’s largest boat show and it is free admission for visitors. For more information please go to http://www.scotlandsboatshow.co.uk/
Please do come aboard and chat to us in regards to the Hardy 32DS or if you would like to discuss any other boat from the Hardy range.
We will not be exhibiting a Hardy at the Show this year, we had planned to premiere the new Hardy 65 but we don’t want to rush finishing this fabulous custom yacht, so she will be launched in October. Watch our website for news of this.
Nonetheless, we will be exhibiting two other boats from the Windboats Group stable, the Gunfleet 58 ocean cruising yacht on marina berth M260, and a Trusty 28 on berth M128. During the show our MD Oliver James, Sally Coleman and Robin Campbell will be based on the Gunfleet, where we would be delighted to meet you and to update you on the Hardy range.
The first of the new Hardy 65s will be launched later this year. Based on the original Hardy 62 design, she retains all of the rugged, sea-going features for which Hardys are so justly renowned, but her styling and finish, both internal and external, have been lifted to a totally new level.
The second of our ‘new style’ Hardy 32DS ‘Henry’ has just left our commissioning base in Ipswich bound for his new home on the West Coast of Scotland.
Along similar styling as the first re-badged Hardy 32 DS, she has totally new interior and is beautifully executed in American white oak. “Henry” is powered by twin Yanmar 240hp engines and can expect speeds of 22-25 knots. Being a semi-displacement hull he has the beauty of running at lower speeds as well as high cruising speeds, therefore increasing fuel economy.
‘Henry’ is built in a traditional dark blue, with canopy covers to match and has an alternative layout with a V berth in a larger forward cabin, an upper and lower berthed guest cabin, a large heads with walk-in shower, and the galley aft of the helm position.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org or 01692 408700 if you would like any further information about the Hardy 32 DS.
